My Story Begins Here
Hi, I’m Steven Crissien, and I’d like to share a bit of my story with you.
I grew up in Paterson, New Jersey to a working-class family. My parents immigrated to America from Colombia back in the early 1970's.
Being taught to focus on my education and get good grades. and pursue the traditional path of college into a corporate job.
In fact, I landed a job at Sony Music while I was in the middle of my college graduation. I was getting redirected to my spot in line for the graduation walk-in march when I got the call.
That day I became the family “success” story.
A diploma, a stable career, owning a house became my view of success. You “made it” if you graduated college and managed to get some job security.
By those standards, I thought I was doing pretty well, and I thought I was on the right path.
Trouble Ahead
On a dark and cloudy evening, I had arrived at Washington D.C. after an agonizing eight hour drive from Buffalo, NY. I remember sitting in the U-Haul truck looking at my phone, checking my bank account.
And when I saw my bank account, I only had $200 in our checking account.
And I remember having a flood of thoughts rush into my mind…
“Rebeca (my wife) gave up her job for us to move to D.C.”
“We only have one source of income with $200 in the bank.”
“Our debt is continuing to increase and we are now over $75,000 in debt.”
I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what needed to change.

By those standards, I thought I was doing pretty well, and I thought I was on the right path.
My Epiphany
When I finally said to myself… “NO MORE! Something needs to change.”
I had $200 in my checking account, $0 in savings, with over $75,000 in debt.
One thing was clear… I wanted to help others but at that time I couldn't even help myself.
So, I invested in coaches.
And over the next 12 months, I succeeded in launching a digital marketing agency helping businesses get leads.
Even though my agency was flourishing, I still felt trapped. So I decided to start over (again).
I had no business model, and no idea. Just a burning desire to do something I loved.
That was when I found my calling... Helping entrepreneurs get more clients so they can get paid to make a difference and impact in the world.
